In this sermon, we confront the reality that the call to gospel ministry—and especially gospel leadership—is costly, demanding sacrifice, perseverance, and a willingness to endure suffering for the sake of Christ. Paul’s imagery of fragile jars of clay highlights how God uses our weaknesses to display His surpassing power, reminding us that every affliction we face—whether social rejection, personal loss, or persecution—is an opportunity to manifest the life of Jesus. For gospel leaders, the cost is often greater, bearing the weight of spiritual attacks and challenges for the sake of those they lead. Yet, the eternal glory and renewal we receive far outweigh any earthly hardship, empowering us to proclaim the gospel boldly and extend God’s grace to a world in need.
